The Fire & Ice collection concludes in Book 2, The Dead of Winter. Crystal and Mac find their town taken over by a rogue military commander. While Mac escapes and begins a cross country trip to find aid, Crystal is left to protect the townspeople from the tyrant, Mathias Mayhue and his men.
