Great Intro into Why Outlines Help

Liked: the author steps thru a justification for outlining methodically. The interviewer questions were dogmatic in their consistency for each author interviewed. Definitely reaffirming that outlining does not introduce too much differential equations into a creative process. structure is ok.

Dislike: I wish it delved a little more into various types of outlining and planning with more critiques on various planning tools.

Great Book With Lots of Good Tips on Writing

As an aspiring author myself, I found this a great resource in helping me with the outlining process. The author gives clear guidance and helpful advice from other authors to supplement her information.

YES!!!

I've got a dang good story I've been trying to tell for YEARS, but every time I put pen to paper I get caught up in syntax, grammar and sentence structure. I don't have a degree in literature or English studies, but I've clung to the hope that there's more than one way to write a story.

4 1/2 hours and a bunch of notes (and bookmarks and highlights... Thanks Kindle), I finally feel the confidence and FREEDOM to get started!

I love K.M. Weiland's Books

I've had this book for a few years and listened to it at least three times. I bought the Kindle version because it's easier to use for note taking and I often listen while walking. I have several of her books and refer to them often. I haven't found a bad one yet.

Exceptional read/listen.

The narrator's tone and pace made this a very easy and enjoyable listen. The information presented is proving to be very helpful.

Very helpful

This book is very helpful in understanding the process of outlining a novel. The author gives examples from her own work, suggestions from many other authors, and reasons why outlining is a beneficial tool to the writing process. This book can be useful for beginners or experienced writers, as it gives alternative view points from many sources. I also enjoyed the narrator's voice.

A tremendous help and blessing

I am a fledgling writer. Working my way to becoming a fledgling author. I have written articles, short stories, and other small projects for years. I have been published in newspapers and magazines and all the while I felt as if something was really holding me back.

Now, thanks to K. M. Weiland, I have found a crucial aspect of my method that has been missing. Through this easy to follow guide I have learned more than I thought possible.

The narrator does a wonderful job of delivering and entertaining read, while still providing a comfortable voice that is more than able to bring about the gems and nuggets within.

If you haven’t read the authors blog you are missing out. Tremendous helps and encouragements.
