They kicked in the wrong door....

Lieutenant Peter Bank's Narcotics Unit hit a house looking for dope. What they found was a prototype rifle and a congressman’s son moonlighting as the criminal elite. The paperwork on the arrest isn’t even finished before an army of politicos a come down on Banks and his unit like a thousand-year flood. Everyone wants to make the arrest of a prominent politician’s kid go away, even Bank’s own chief. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem. Most cops follow orders from the chief, most cops have a stake in their career. But Peter Banks has been burned before by political fixers who seemed to think that not all are created, or treated equally under the law. Banks also has a team behind him that would follow him to hell and back if it meant getting the job done.

From an exclusive island off the coast of South Carolina, the mountains in the upstate, to the gutters of Charleston, SC, Banks and his team will charge through mercenaries, assassins, and their own hierarchy to see justice done; and they will do it at terrible cost. Spoilers is a fast-paced, intricate, and explosive story that leaves the audience exhausted but begging for more.

Fast-paced gritty police drama.

Spoilers is a story set in Charleston, SC and centers around a narcotics unit who stumble on a clandestine operation involving illegal weapons. The conspiracy is well connected and attempts to get the narcotics unit to back down. When the police decline to walk away the action really heats up leading to the cinematic, action packed conclusion.

There are many details in the story that highlight the fact that the author has extensive knowledge and experience in law enforcement.

The story moves so quickly with so many names characters that keeping track of them is a challenge at times. I would have personally enjoyed a deeper dive into the central personalities.

The narration was ok although the sporadic attempt at sounds effects would have been better left out. A number of times the narrator mispronounced common words.

Spoilers was and enjoyable read with an interesting plot.
