Acerca de esta escucha
Leonard Sweet wants to show you the ins and outs of livin' and old-fashined faith in these newfangled times. In his engaging, wonderful, thought-bytes style, Sweet invites you to...Mezuzah your universe, do dirt and do dishes, cycle to church, give history a shove, cheer rivals from the bench, and dance the salsa.
Soul Salsa unpacks it all in ways that can change how you live if you let them. You can be a man or woman who walks the ancient path of a disciple in the world of the future. Because the future is now, and now is the time to practice the "17 Lifestyle Requirements for Membership in the Postmodern Body of Christ". Time to enter the dance of culture that desperately needs to see your moves.

“Leadership” has become a runaway obsession for those who are called to equip the body of Christ for service in the Kingdom of God. The concept of “followership” is all but lost in the wake of this leadership fetish, a near hypnotic obsession. Jesus’ clear call, and the pattern of New Testament leadership, are actually found in a pattern of followership. We’ve been told otherwise but when it comes to a movement in our churches, our families, or the workplace, everything rises or falls on followership. Sweet proposes an intentional shift from leadership cults to followership cultures.

Did Jesus have bad habits? In our culture we have a tendency to describe Jesus in ways that soften his revolutionary edge. Len Sweet uncovers and presents to us the offensive and scandalous Jesus described in the Bible. Did he disappear when people needed him most? Yes. Did he refuse to answer questions directly? Yes. Did Jesus offend the people of his day? Absolutely yes. Popular author and speaker Len Sweet examines the words and actions of Jesus and places them in context.

Pay attention. Brace yourself. This audio book is set to revolutionize your understanding of evangelism. That revolution stands to affect not just your everyday habits, including encounters you have with other people, but the very roots of your faith, the range of your mission, and the limits of your freedom. In the tradition of The Gospel According to Starbucks, this groundbreaking audio book dares to ask: Instead of bringing people to Jesus, how about joining Jesus in what he is already doing? Author Leonard Sweet challenges you to use all five senses to interact with God....

The voice that spoke the cosmos into existence is the same voice that parted the Red Sea and made the sun stand still in the midday sky. One day, this voice will make all things new, but it’s also speaking to you now! That voice is God’s, and what we’ve learned from Scripture is that He often speaks in a whisper. Not to make it difficult to hear Him, but to draw us close. Sure, in ancient times and in mysterious ways, God spoke to His people, but is He still speaking now? Mark Batterson certainly believes so. And he wants to introduce you to the seven love languages of God.

And so she set out on a journey to understand the Church and to find her place in it.

Historia
In this groundbreaking, inspiring book, Robin R. Meyers, the senior minister of Oklahoma City’s Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ, shows how listeners can move from a theology of obedience to one of consequence. He argues that we need to stop seeing our actions as a means for pleasing a distant God and rediscover how God has empowered us to care for ourselves and the world. Drawing on stories from his decades of active ministry, Meyers captures how the struggles of ordinary people hint at how we can approach faith as a radical act of trust in a God who is all around us.

In a shallow light-speed world, how can we really know and be known by another person? How do we make true friends? The Digital Age is all about change, but the need for true friendship never changes. We are designed for real engagement with others - for affirmation that goes beyond a simple "like" on social media, for connection over meals, for hope and excitement about the future. Above all, we need to be known and accepted for who we are.

Some people have learned how to live. They can handle all that life brings. They are composed. They radiate strength. They are whole, with lives worth emulating, and when they speak people listen. They are, in a word, wise. How did these people get wisdom? And perhaps more importantly, how can we? In his long-awaited first audiobook, Daniel Grothe of New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, shows us how to get wisdom for ourselves by examining what the Bible has to say about it and by providing practical steps for acquiring it.

It was Blessed John Paul II's greatest gift to the Church: the theology of the body. A window into who we are, the theology of the body is a theology for the rooms where we make love. But it's also a theology for the rooms where we work, where we eat, where we laugh, and where we pray. These Beautiful Bones takes you on a walk through those rooms. With both humor and practical wisdom, it sheds light on what the theology of the body has to say about life.

Over the past 20 years, Matthew Kelly has seen more of the world than most presidents and more of the Church than most bishops. Now, in this unique and timely book, he proposes that Catholicism is not a lifeless set of rules and regulations, but a way of life designed by God to help each person reach his or her full potential. With remarkable insight, Kelly dispels dozens of myths that surround the rejection of Catholicism today and provides a profound and practical vision of what will lead the Catholic Church to thrive again in the future.

Good book
The actual reading is very good. The issue is with the very loud and mostly disturbing background noises that drowns out the speaker unless volume is set to ear bursting levels... Really just steals worth from the book's value.

Absolutely fantastic. A great interactive listen with multiple layers of sound and Leonard Sweet is a brilliant communicator. My favorite audiobook
Without a doubt, this is my all-time favorite audiobook. The combination of music and Sweet's rich voice, along with the thought-provoking insights, make it worth multiple listens. The only real problem with it is that it's abridged, so I recommend also getting the book as well. Listen and read at the same time, stop the audio when he skips a part, continue reading and pick up with the audio when it's time. You'll have a blast experiencing this book in this multisensory way, because the book is also a feast for the eyes!
