Acerca de esta escucha

Secrets are dangerous! Maya Cantescu, an art student in the San Francisco Bay Area, has more secrets than she can handle. Some she keeps from herself, like her mysterious talent for sorcery. Some she knows too well, like the rare disease that threatens to kill her - or someone else. When she meets Tor Thorlaksson, a sorcerer and runemaster, he seems to offer an escape from her deadly problems. But he knows secrets about them both, and these could turn her world upside down.

If this was the first book of Katharine Kerr I had ever read I would never have read another. The story seems forced, opening with the known familiar of magic in San Franscisco with no reason why it exists as fact. The performance was okay but the story is very lacking in depth; especially with how great her other stories are. Overall it seems like a day time soap opera, These are the Days of Our Lives with magic. It feels like a rough draft written by a student in their first creative writing class rather than a story written by a great author.
