June’s quiet mother inspired her devotion to words and rhythm by reading Mother Goose nursery rhymes and associating specific words with parts of June’s body. A MASTERPIECE
Grateful for the time spent listening to this beautifully recorded book set in NYC, in Harlem and Brooklyn. June Jordan's work is genius and her girlhood story so poignantly penned.
Robin Miles truly brought it to life with an authenticity that made me laugh and cry..I will read the text and listen again and bring both the text and audio to my students and recommend this to my friends.
