When the chief suspect in the notorious "peekaboo cop killer" case blew himself up, almost taking lead investigator DCI Duncan Bone with him, the psychologically damaged detective thought his days on the force were over. But, when another PC is abducted and murdered in the same deranged peekaboo fashion, Bone is persuaded to return to lead the new investigation.

Compelling, likable characters
This was my first V Dodds book and I was pleasantly surprised: Great pacing and plotting, great dialogue and most importantly many complex, believable characters.
A couple of small things that bothered me: 1) The title, which seems totally unrelated to any of the themes; and 2) the ending, which is embarrassingly abrupt and embarrassingly cliche.
