Had Difficulty Focusing on The Story
I know that readers do their best to relay the tone and feel of the story. That being said, the narrator's tone didn't vary much at all between characters. I was really looking forward to this series, after becoming familiar with Petra and Mo in the original Zoe Finch series. The mood felt stagnant. I had to listen to some chapters more than once. My mind drifted and unlike other McLean novels, I wasn't captivated and honestly didn't care about most of the characters. Maybe it's just how much I LOVE Jan Cramer's narrations. I get that the location of events is Scotland, and my American ear has to lock in to follow the dialect at times. I plan to continue with the series and hope that my experience get much better.

Missing Jan Cramer
It’s hard to rate the story because I was so distracted by the bad cadence and breathy voice of the narrator of this book. I don’t know how or why she would do this, but she would take audible breaths every few words like she was running out of air. These pauses did nothing for the continuity of the story (think a bad Captain Kirk). I did love her Scottish accent and found her bad American accents amusing.
Story was ok but the American tech billionaire aspect was not believable… so I enjoyed it as if he was just a non-tech wealthy American.

Very hard to listen to
The story was good but the narrator is one of those who reads to the end of the line of text, not to the end of the sentence. It’s very distracting and hard to follow
