Outstanding

It was an outstanding and moving story about amazing women/ nurses who went through hell and stood together to survive yet never forgot their calling. A true sisterhood.

The morale and fortitude of the women POWs.

Excellent historical recount of a very dark time as female POWs during WW 2 under Japanese occupation

Beautiful story

Loved the music! Such a treat with an audiobook. When I first read about the vocal instrumentation, I wanted to hear a sample of what it sounded like because I had never heard of such a thing. It really added to the story. The entire pieces included at the end were wonderful.

Amazing story of amazing women under the most horrible circumstances. I could hardly put the book down and at the end I could hardly stop crying. It’s a must read!

Resilience

this Novel is a treasure. Heather Morris is a master, capturing history and weaving it through the lives of these heroic women. I have read Cilka, The Tatooist of Auchwitz, & Three Sisters, these people I will never forget. Thank you!

Descriptions of daily life and hardships as well as the courage and tenacity shown by the captives.

Fascinating story well told. Hard to listen to at times but very much worth the time
