Being a Nomad, I always thought it was best for my boy to be with his momma. I was constantly on the road and it wasn't the place for a kid. Sure, I wanted him with me as much as possible, but constantly moving isn't the type of life I wanted for him.

Now, things have changed and I'm not ridin' around the States as much as I used to. Sure, I still go out, but we have a satellite club in Tallahassee. When my son begged for me to let him move in with me . . . I knew something happened, but when he told me, I saw red.

I called up my lawyer and given my priors, the likelihood I'd be awarded full custody was slim to none. My lawyer was straight up with me, said it's 'cause I don't look like a changed man and when it comes to the eyes of the court I need to show I've changed. Now, the only thing I've been convicted of is assault, on multiple counts, but it's what happens to idiots who mess with my brothers. I heard my lawyer loud and clear though, so I had a brilliant idea. I'll get married. I'll show them I'm a changed man.

Our marriage was supposed to be for show, so I could get my son back, but it turned into something else. Now I'm faced with telling this woman I want her in a legitimate way, when all we've been doing is playing pretend. I've never been the type to put my heart out on the line, but I see the way she is with my son, and now I never want her out of my life. I only hope she has the same feelings.

Marriage of convenience?

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. Charm agrees to marry Runes, the president of the MC, to allow him to get custody of his son. Runes ex-wife has gotten mixed up with human trafficking/sex trafficking and involved their son in it. He is determined to not only get custody of his son, but to see to it that his ex pays for what she has done to the boy.

I like Charm. She has problems caused by a fire at her business where she got trapped. Runes is good for her as he tries to give her back her self-confidence. He proposes the marriage as temporary but intends to keep his new wife forever, if he can. Dramatic ending that leaves us hanging, but not about Runes and Charm. I was given an advanced copy of this audiobook by the author. My review is voluntary.

Unbelievably PERFECT read!!

Sinister, an Audiobook by E.C. Land and Elizabeth Knox is an incredible, heartbreaking story about Runes and Fern. Fern has suffered injuries. Runes has legal issues where he needs her help.

These two are absolutely PERFECT for each other!!!! I LOVED Runes….and I thoroughly enjoyed Fern’s journey. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful story!!!!

This Audiobook was narrated by Jason Fella, who does a superb job at performing all of the characters! Great job!!

Great addition

This is book two of this interconnected standalone series. This story is told in dual first person POV.

I listened to the audiobook on Audible. The narrator is a male and voices both the main Male and Female characters, along with the side characters. He did a great job doing both characters and side characters. I would listen to more of his work. He did a great job bringing this story to life.

This story picks up a few months after the epilogue of book one. So in my opinion, it would be better to read the series in order. It does give the view of where book one left off in a different view along with more information about the events. I would also check trigger warnings, as this book does touch on sensitive topics such as human trafficking and descriptions of certain acts that weren’t consensual.

My heart broke for Rune’s son. I was so happy that he gathered the courage and strength to speak to Rune (Erik) about what he had been going through with his mother. I was so proud of Rune for doing what was needed to protect not only his son but the others that were harmed by the vile monster that was his ex.

My heart broke for Fern and what she had been through as well. I loved that her best friend Charm didn’t give up on her, but I loved that Rune was the one to get through to her and bring her back to the person she was before. I loved that they had a relationship before her life changed. I loved that she agreed to help him do whatever it took to gain custody of his son and help in anyway she could. I loved that she was able to form a bond with his son as well.

I am so excited to read/listen to more of this series! That epilogue definitely has me needing more!! I was provided an advanced listeners copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.
