Acerca de esta escucha

Autumn leaves aren't the only things falling in the historic Virginia village of Taylorsford - so are some cherished memories, and a few bodies.

October in Taylorsford, Virginia, means it's leaf peeping season, with bright colorful foliage and a delightful fresh crew of tourists attending the annual Heritage Festival, which celebrates local history and arts and crafts. Library director Amy Webber, though, is slightly dreading having to spend two days running a yard sale fundraiser for her library. But during these preparations, when she and her assistant Sunny stumble across a dead body, Amy finds a real reason to be worried.

The body belonged to a renowned artist who was murdered with her own pallet knife. A search of the artist's studio uncovers a cache of forged paintings, and when the sheriff's chief deputy Brad Tucker realizes Amy is skilled in art history research, she's recruited to aid the investigation. It doesn't seem to be an easy task, but when the state's art expert uncovers a possible connection between Amy's deceased uncle and the murder case, Amy must champion her Aunt Lydia to clear her late husband's name.

That's when another killing shakes the quiet town, and danger sweeps in like an autumn wind. Now, with her swoon-inducing neighbor Richard Muir, Amy must scour their resources to once again close the books on murder.

I LOVE THE CONFIDENCE IN RICHARD'S AND AMY'S RELATIONSHIP! THE STORYLINE WAS PREDICTABLE ON SOME LEVELS BUT WITH JUST ENOUGH TWISTS TO PROVIDE A FEW SURPRISES, NOT ALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE OBVIOUS MYSTERY. SOMETIMES YOU DON'T WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW. HA

I HAVE MISSED THESE CHARACTERS

Great plot - really glad I read the first book to fully appreciate the complexity of the characters
Can’t wait for book three

A terrific read

Overall, I enjoyed this quite a bit. I was, however, incessantly, irritated by the fact that either the author or the reader (I don’t know which) mispronounced “provenance” when discussing the origin and history of a painting. It is not providence. Please note.

Fun story

The mystery and how it all came together. It was also glad that Amy finally got to see richard's performance.

The love Amy and Richard have.

A complex story with diverse characters that is centered around paintings. I enjoyed the voice talent and the author's work. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Edgy Cozy Highly recommended

A well plotted, twisted mystery with an interesting premise centered around art. Not as fast paced as the first book, but still a good read. ColleenMarlo does a great narrative of this boook!

twisty cozy

Keeping a series interesting is a challenge for every author who chooses to commit to one. Victoria Gilbert deepens the characters and compliments the plot with ease. I liked this second edition better than the first and can hardly wait for the third

Great series

The second in the Blue Ridge Library Mystery series is SUCH a good one! Combining books and art, the story finds library director, Amy Webber dreading an upcoming fundraiser. Little did she know it would lead to a dead body and an ages old mystery surrounding forged paintings. Don't miss this one, great cozy and an ending well worth the wait.

Books and Artists, Love it!

I like this series and author. Amy’s aunt Lydia is by far my favorite character in this story. I do have to say I was not fond of the narration at all and it detracted in my enjoyment of the book. The narrator of the first book was much better. This narrator made the characters appear so much older then they really were. I will continue with this series but probably in print form.

Narration distraction

This book fills in some unanswered questions that I had after the first book and continues to keep moving forward and how some of the other people in the town are connected, so I shall go onto book 3 and see what next in hand, who will be the next victim(s) and who will portal the murder(s).

Bad vs. real Bad
