I am new to this paranormal series, but I am hooked after listening to this story

I am new to this paranormal series, but I am hooked after listening to this story. I was captivated by the world built and how these two destined mates' journey would play out. Corbin would not give up on Styx, allowing her to finally give into their bond and the love that grew. There is danger, action...bloody battles so if that's not your thing you've been warned... and suspense. Narrators brought characters to life.

Love the series!

This is the second book of the series, and I really enjoyed super tough Styx' story. Gargoyle shifter!? Yes, please! I listened to these books out of order, and I would recommend listening to them in order. I was not lost, but it certainly were some ah-ha moments after I learned the backstory of certain characters. This whole series is a great one to get. The dual narration I absolutely love, too. They did an amazing job!!

Slow burn

If you like slow burn, this is it for you. To me it’s just okay. Both narrators did an excellent job at narrating

Wow, who could possibly put this down after that prologue?!
The start did keep up the intrigue, but not the excitement, it ended up being more slow-paced, but built the world and introduced the characters a bit—no complaints. And the excitement did pick back up appropriately. I prefer the intrigue / slow-build/ world-building style myself, so this was a very fun read.

Gods / mythology.
Vengeance.
Tartarus.
Fated mates.
Gargoyles.
Lots of witty banter.
Slow-burn romance.
Fun world-building.
Environmental consciousness.

Overall, this left me wanting to explore more from this author—I think I’m officially a fan. And it was a fun installment for the IVV world, as some have more world-building than others. Anderson nails this while simultaneously putting her own spin on everything, including mythology. Brilliant.

🎧 Audio:
From the first sentence, I was struck by the incredible performance.The main female narrator was amazing. 5 stars!

The male narrator performed well, though the volume fluctuated greatly for his parts, there were times I had to turn it up all the way just to be able to hear it—then I’d have to promptly put it back down to a comfortable level for other parts.

And there were some technical issues. Some parts were missing or just had clicking where they should’ve been, even after I’d been through all the basic troubleshooting. (Deleted the book from device, re-downloaded. Deleted again and uninstalled the entire app … etc. )

Missing some parts

I have been really enjoying this series. Ever since we met Styx in the first book I couldn't wait to get her story. I listened to this on audio and starting in chapter eleven there are some parts missing. Other than that I loved this book.

Enjoyed It!

Styx and Corvin

I enjoyed listening to this. The narrators did a great job. Loved listening to them found their voices relaxing and entertaining.

Styx was banished to the other realm. Love how snarky, feisty, grumpy and ready to battle. Corvin is a gargoyle shifter looking to create a family with other shifters and finds Styx who turns out to be his mate so he is determined to make her his. I laughed when she could feel him following her and she calls him out. The chemistry between the two hot even though Styx is determined to not want to mate with anyone. Love how protective Corvin is and Styx too when she helps Corvin's members. In this story you get why Styx got banished, revenge, battles, confrontations, mating, truths ect. This is an excellent and entertaining series so far and from what I see its a bunch of authors that are writing about different characters and their mates.

Shadow Me

Shadow Me is the second book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds. Each book can be read and enjoyed as standalone books. I love Styx’s story.

Penelope Ann Rose and Xander Marceaux did a great job narrating this book.

I have been reading /listening to this series completely out of order and I know one day I'm going to get my act together and start from book 1 and make my way through like a normal reader! Lol. All that to say, you can definitely read most of these books in any order you want, with the exception of a few.

Corvin, oh Corvin! Who knew I had a thing for Gargoyles, who are total sweethearts!!!
Styx is probably my most favorite character in the entire series, so I was so freakin happy she gets her HEA after 5 thousand years!!!

Loved, loved, LOVED the narrators for this book! Penelope Ann Rose and Zander Marceaux are my newest narrator crushes, and I need more of their narrations!!

Styx Seeks to Elude Her Gargoyle Mate

I’m enjoying the series of Immortal Vices and Virtues.
Styx appears hard and unfeeling however she isn’t once we learn more about her. Loss and losing trust in but a few people, guilt and self loathing have driven her
Colvin, her mate refuses to give up on her and with his loyal and goodness turns her
The story and changes between the couple are fun to listen to and a nice bit of heat
Enjoyed the narration- the female narrator is perfect and really enjoy that Colvin has a New York accent because that’s where he originated
