The night after the first meeting of the treasure hunters, however, several homes in Edinburgh are robbed in a manner reminiscent of Shelagh's old tricks. And when a man connected to Shelagh is killed, suspicion builds. Except Shelagh herself has disappeared from her home, seemingly kidnapped by the villain.

Terror mounts throughout the city as Delaney attempts to solve the mystery, while trying to evade the killer's clutches. But it's hard to know who to trust when around every corner, a new monster could be lurking.

Super cute story

Once again Susan Boyce had me enthralled. She is absolutely the master of cozy mysteries!!

Great story

I recently found Paige's books and have listened to all of them. I enjoy her description of Edinburgh and what she sees. Paige does an excellent job of describing her characters and how she feels about them. The stories are well written, easy to follow, but you still need to listen for the clues to who done it and why. Can't wait for her next book from The Cracked Spine.

For this audiobook, I do have to note that the narrator is still really off. Her Scottish accents are spotty, at best, and sometimes sound quite Irish.

Great story a really excellent mystery. keeps you interested and on your toes. Love Tom and Darcy's love story too.

f Fun Read

This was a fun read from a fun series. I liked how the story evolved though the ending came together in a bit of a rush. still, the likeable characters and good plot earn it a five star.
Note to Tartan Noir fans, of whom I big one: this series is lighter than that genre. still very enjoyable just no noir...

Best narrator ever

I just love it to listen to Susan Boyce. She brings every story to life without exaggerated voice changes. Thank you Susan!

Never a dull moment

All well done, but there were just a few too many twists and turns to be likely.

Great series!

For Scotland lovers, book and mystery lovers... great series, relatable characters set in modern day Edinburgh.

The first two books were narrated by a really good narrator. The later one is horrible. A "close" is not a close.
The great narrator Davina Porter who does English and Scots very well says she reads the book through and then goes back to note words, places and people she needs to be sure she is pronouncing correctly. Anyone who has been to Scotland should know what a close is. There are a large number of things the author gets wrong. The story is good but not great. For free it is great.
