Wasn't impressed

Another book with a great description and a lousy story. Didn't like any of the characters, especially Alex. She was totally unbelievable as a cop. From trying to hide facts about her jewelry at a crime scene to always being just behind the killer in trying to talk to anyone. The killer reveal at the end almost had me laughing as it was just to far out there to be believed. They why the kids were taken and everything that happened since was just unrealistic. Wasn't impressed.

I Figured out Dr J way too early, couldn’t understand why she didn’t

There were other moments that were hard to consider as legitimate behaviors, reactions, thought process

It had potential but just seemed like the author rushed through it.

All this being said, I have listened to many of her books so far, and this is the first one that I didn’t enjoy as much as the others.

What a TWIST!

Did NOT expect THAT at all! Took me a little bit to get into. Had to restart a few times after the first few chapters, listening to something else then coming back. But once I really listened/focused on the story, I was hooked. 🤙🏻🤙🏻

A drama with a little murder thrown in

Started out with murder and intrigue. The drama of the heroine distracts from the story. I am starting not to care about who done it.

Not impressed

I really tried to get into this book. I just couldn't finish it. The narrator was good though.

I enjoyed the whole book. It gripped me from the beginning and kept my attention the entire time.

Entertaining

Narrator is very good! Story line ok, hard to follow at times. I always enjoy stories narrated by Nicole Zanzarella.

Aggravating MC, unbelievable story. Didn’t enjoy as much as other titles by same author. Good narration.

Very Enjoyable!

I found this book to be very good. The story is one of Girards older works, back in the day of pagers and pay phones with few cell/car phones. There were some weak spots, few books do not. Overall it was satisfying from start to end. I found the narration very good.

CATALOG PLUS, Good story and narrator has potential

Female writers of this nature and genre tend to be a little flowery and some descriptions that if they read more Hemingway, they’d understand that that’s not necessary to be a good writer. Which is why Michael Conley does so well. There’s something about female authors well so many of them that want to break into this genre,that just go too far in some descriptions. You have to be able to write for both men and women, which means you have to keep the dialogue, clear, concise and informative. Which in itself is very difficult, make no mistake being a writer is hard work. This is a new narrator for me, and l LIKE HER. Seeking more of her work.
