Acerca de esta escucha

This is an academic work describing how the New Testament writers re-purpose Genesis 6:1-5 in their presentation of Jesus as messiah. Though every topic addressed in Reversing Hermon can be found in scholarly academic literature, Reversing Hermon is the first book to gather this information and make it accessible to Bible students everywhere. The book also includes lengthy appendices on the ancient debate on the inspiration of the book of 1 Enoch, New Testament allusions to the book, and academic resources for studying 1 Enoch and the Book of Giants from the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Great book, not a great narrator

Dr. Heiser is an awesome teacher. His many thorough works are invaluable resources, for anyone willing to listen and to learn. I never ever thought I would enjoy any type of theology. Knowing how dry and "clinical" it can be. I never learned any of these things and always wondered why? This book is filled with a ton of interesting things that make you think and process what we as Christians have always been taught.
I will say the narrator on this one is rough to listen to. I would rather listen to the over-enunciating guy from the other books and he isnt great either unfortunately.
More people would listen if they would use a decent narrator.

EXCELLENT!!!

THIS IS A VERY THOROUGHLY RESEARCHED AND COGENT
WORK WHICH HAS CERTAINLY OPENED TO ME EVEN MORE
'HIDDEN' HISTORIES OF THE EARLY CHRISTIAN AND JEWISH
UNDERSTANDINGS. MY ONLY WISH IS THAT I HAD KNOWN SOME OF
THIS 50 YEARS AGO!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, DR. HEISER!

Some tech issues; mixed content

The reading was good. The volume and pitch of the recording changed throughout, sometimes with the chapter breaks and sometimes randomly. Occasionally lines of the text would repeat.

An evangelical biblical theology of Enochic literature is really unique, and this book (along with his Supernatural) has really helped me see thematic lines that truly seem to run throughout Scripture.

This may simply come down to my taste, but parts of the book were really interesting (particularly the first few chapters) and other parts seemed overly long. Particularly the examination of epistles for connections seemed to survey the interpretive options with too much detail. But others may appreciate this detail.

Strange Performance

The content was awesome. But the man who read the book couldn’t seem to settle on a vocal style. One minute he would have a beautiful reading voice, then he sounded like he had smoked and drank too much, and then like he was selling used cars on a local radio station (which was astonishingly obnoxious).

I listened to the bitter end bc I wanted to hear the content. But, gracious, it was a commitment.

Undoing falsehoods

A must in helping distinguishing truth from fiction. His companion book on Enoch was helpful to sturdy first.

I have learned so much

Dr. Heiser was the best at explaining the Bible down to the grammar. He was so meticulous and so well educated about the things he was explaining. I love all of his books and I read them repeatedly.

How Enoch blends so well with Old Testament

Excellent book. Very well researched and written. Not to difficult to understand. Highly recommend this book and Dr. Heiser’s other books. Must read for contemporary Christians and non believers alike. Answers difficult parts of the Bible how I’ve never heard before. Narrator is also top notch, which can make or break an audiobook.
