Thoughts from a Meta/Google Recruiter
I'm one of the Metaverse Research Recruiters at Meta and I was the Leadership Recruiter for the Google Search Algorithm before this role. We have a lot of great interview training both at Meta and Google - but I've frequently been asked for books that distill that knowledge. Up to now, I've only been able to recommend Laszlo Bock's 'Work Rules' which published his work on hiring science at Google. It's an amazing book but tends to be too technical and long for most hiring managers.
I'm going to start recommending this book for a quicker read. Ryan did a great job summarizing the work we did at Meta and Google Recruiting. He talks about strategy but also goes into detail about novel tactics a manager can try. It's an easy-to-understand guide for good recruiting practices.
