For 40 years priests, deacons, laity, and seminarians have been taught the historical critical approach to studying the Scriptures. This scholarly method has proven invaluable to the proper understanding of the Word of God. However, the rich "spiritual" sense of the Scriptures that was so favored by the Fathers of the Church, great preachers of the past and the mystics has been neglected/lost.The poetry and the power of the word of God comes alive in this informative presentation that is meant to instill in all lovers of the Bible a deeper intimacy with the living Word of God, the logos, the Christ. Dr. Healy skillfully fuses together the history of salvation in Hebrew Scriptures with the culmination of that history as spiritually understood in the New Testament. Nevertheless, only a person who is truly looking for the inspiration that comes from the Holy Spirit can truly unlock the meaning of the inspired word. Only those who are in the process of a lifelong conversion will be able to plummet the depth and meaning of the Sacred Scriptures.

Wonderful learning experience
This is amazing, I learned a lot, the only problem is the quality of the recording. Doctor Healy's talk is great, but every once in a while she cuts out, but only for a second or two. She takes questions from th audience, but you can't hear them at all. You can hear the voices cutting in and out, but not the questions. Sort of makes me wonder what else is missing. Having said that, this well worth the listen.
