Protecting Piper is the fourth book in the Waverly Wildcats series. This is a sports romance with a small town feel. Piper is a gorgeous curvy woman. She did not have a good childhood. She was raised by a single mom that was in and out of horrible relationships. Her mother has never been loving or supportive of Piper. Brady is such a sweet man. He may look like a grizzly but he is a true cinnamon roll sweetheart. This is his last year to play football. He plans on going back to his family farm. Piper had an anti-dating rule due to her mother’s influence. Piper is a cam girl. It is the only way she was able to pay for her college tuition and expenses. Brady has to put himself in a pretty embarrassing and vulnerable situation just for her to agree to a date. This series is one of the funniest and enjoyable series I’ve read in a while.

Kelsey Navarro Foster and Sean Masters did a fabulous job narrating this book.

If Piper was going to break her no-dating rules for anyone, it would be the sweet and alluring Brady, but she has a future to focus on and a secret to protect. But Brady is more than wholesome farm boy. He goes all out when he wants something, and he set his sights on Piper. What’s a few dance classes, when the girl of your dreams hangs in the balance?😂 Secrets have a way of getting out, and can affect relationships and life plans.

I feel like this book was directed right at my WV girl heart!!🥰 Brady Vaughn won me over so hard with his golden retriever vibes, heart of gold, love of family and the land, his open-mindedness, and his protective nature.😍 His pursuit of her made me laugh… those class scenes!🤣 My heart went out to Piper over her background, but I was proud of the way she embraced her power emotionally and accepted her beauty. Life as a curvy girl can be a difficult at times. I loved them together, and the way they were able to explore their spicy chemistry together! This story also comes with some outside drama that definitely adds to the angst, and had me stressing. Between Brady’s family and his teammates, you’ll get a good dose of that found family vibe, and it’s always fun to see the characters from the previous books! I can’t wait to see which player is the next to fall!

The recently released audio version is narrated by Sean Masters and Kelsey Navarro Foster, who did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life! Honestly, Sean Masters could read the dictionary and I would enjoy it, but he added another dimension to Brady especially. I just love the way narrators capture the nuances of the characters!

Protecting Piper is book 4 in a series where all 4 books are taking place at the same time. That probably has something to do with the fact these books feel a little recycled, so I recommend choosing which books stand out most and reading them first. I had a lot of fun at the start of the series, but ending it felt more like a chore. That, and the fact that book 1 & 2 were so good that books 3 & 4 are falling short for me.

With that being said, this wasn’t a bad book. Brady was absolutely perfect. Jennifer’s writing is always on point and I love that she’s always so inclusive while adding in humor and banter. The fmcs general attitude was starting to negatively impact the book though, causing me to feel disconnected from early on. And while I loved Brady, it was very insta love for what felt like nothing. Needless to say, there were a few moments that had me cringing.

Sean Masters & Kelsey Navarro Foster were amazing narrators and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them! All the narrators for this series have been spot 👏🏼 on 👏🏼

Also, random side note. I love when my home state (West Virginia) is mentioned in books. 💙💛

this is book 4 in the Waverly series, and I think it has been my favorite one of all. I love that Piper is independent and doesn't let the fact that she doesn't have a supportive family stop her, but she uses that to push herself. I guess the thing i didn't like was that she allowed herself to be blackmailed

Brady was also very likeable and accepting. loved him

It’s Vaughn’s HEA

PROTECTING PIPER is the fourth and final audiobook in the WAVERLY WILDCATS series by Jennifer Bonds. This story is about Piper, an elementary education major who works as a Cam Girl to pay her way through college, and Brady Vaughn, a football player and Agriculture major. Brady saw Piper on his way to a party and never looked back. He pursued her relentlessly until she finally agreed to date him and his instincts that she was the woman for him proved to be true. I really enjoyed this new adult, college, football romance with a Curvy FMC and Virgin MMC with Golden Retriever vibes where he falls first and there is no third act breakup. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was that this was Brady Vaughn’s book. Vaughn played a role in the love stories of at least one of his teammates, and he was so sweet and innocent compared to rest of them. I really wanted to see him get his HEA. I loved Piper as well and admired her self confidence and independence. They were two people with little experience with romance who were just perfect together. Brady was so good at supporting Piper in making her own life choices. He was raised to be the perfect book boyfriend in an estrogen heavy household! The narrators for this audiobook were Kelsey Nevarro Foster and Sean Masters, who did a great job bringing this dual POV story to light. If you enjoy new adult contemporary sports romance,then I recommend giving this audiobook a listen.

Piper and Brady

I've had a lot of fun following the Waverly Wildcats crew, and loved Piper and Brady's story. While I have enjoyed getting to know all the couples in this series, Piper and Brady are my favorite. Piper is independent, tough, and very focused on her goals. Despite having an unsupportive mother, Piper is doing what is necessary to earn her degree in Education, including secretly working as a camgirl. Brady is a football player for the Waverly Wildcats who instantly falls for Piper when they first meet. Piper is guarded and has built walls to protect herself and her secrets. Her hesitance does not stop Brady. He is determined to do whatever it takes to convince Piper to give him a chance. Brady is a top-tier book boyfriend. He was down bad for Piper. I loved how he protected and stood up for her. Piper has trust issues that stem from her childhood and difficult relationship with her mother. Brady's persistence, charm, kindness, and huge heart help Piper learn to trust and see she is worthy of love. They are adorable together and I loved the development of their relationship. Protecting Piper is a fun read that put a huge smile on my face.

Narration:
Kelsey Navarro Foster and Sean Masters perform this audiobook using dual-style narration. They delivered wonderful performances and were the perfect voices for Piper and Brady. Kelsey and Sean fully embody the characters, bringing them to life in the best way. They pulled me into the story and made it hard for me to stop listening. Both also did a wonderful job voicing the secondary characters. Kelsey and Sean are gifted voice actors and their voices complemented each other well. This was a fun and engaging listening experience.

More Wildcats Greatness! Awesome Story & Listen🎧

Jennifer Bonds does it again and pens another winning novel set in her wonderful “Waverly Wildcats” series, a sports romance like no other and one that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. I have been loving this series, with each featuring a member of the Wildcats and each book is just as fabulous as the next, with stories that warm your heart and put a smile on your face too. This fourth book is Brady Vaughn and Piper’s story, both attend Waverly college and meet by chance on Greek row. Piper was going to meet her friend at a frat party, but she never makes it there because of a mishap with her shoe. Brady was heading the same way when he spotted her struggling with her shoe, and he went to help her, only to wind up in an awkward position with her, but the one thing that come out of that was him wanting to see her again, except he never got her number. That did not stop him from looking for her all over campus, but with 40,000 students, that is like finding a needle in the haystack. His luck turns around when he spots her, though she isn’t exactly excited to see him again, but he is determined to get the girl and do what it takes to get her, including joining the dance class she is in. Piper has goals, no time for relationships, and she also has a secret, one she does not want anyone to know. Brady slowly worms his way into her life and then into her heart, but can he handle what she does to earn money to pay for college? I loved the originality of this story, a wonderfully plotted, multi-layered story that has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartwarming charm, witty dialogue and humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Piper did not have the best childhood, upbringing, or role model, but she prevailed and I admired her determination to succeed. I also admired that Brady showed her how family life could be and how his family accepted her with open arms. Jennifer Bonds, thank you for another fabulous story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Sean Masters and Kelsey Navarro Foster did an amazing job voicing these characters, giving each a voice that was fitting and delivering a perfect portrayal of each. Kelsey Navarro Foster nailed it as Piper, grasping every aspect of her personality and demeanor from her vulnerabilities to her fierceness, confidence and strength. Sean Master was spot on as Brady, showcasing his personality perfectly, shy, charming and swoon worthy. Both were just as fabulous performing the roles of the side characters, too. These two made a great team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and an entertaining performance that grabs your attention and doesn’t let it go. They are versatile voice artistic and a pleasure to listen to.

Piper and Brady’s story was everything! I loved how the author took care with these characters. I appreciated the body positivity along with some “norms” being switched up, that most authors wouldn’t do. You’re really able to connect with the characters. They were highly relatable. Brady was the perfect BBF. This entire series has been super cute and funny and was taken up a notch in this installment.

I absolutely loved everything about this book!!! The story between Brady and Piper is thoroughly heartwarming! And you can NEVER go wrong with Sean Masters and Kesley Navarro-Foster bringing these characters to life! Do yourself a favor and listen! In fact listen to the entire series it’s positively delightful!!!

Loved it

Piper and Brady are my favorite couple in this series. Piper has a secret and she is afraid Brady will run. Brady is big and burly but is sweet and a gentleman. From beginning to end these two are amazing together. The back and forth between them, will they won’t they. Amazing. The narrators did a great job I had such a good time listening to them. A few chuckles from the way they said things such a great read. I fell in love with Brady just from the way he was presented by Sean.
