Ok performance for a a good story

The headline sums it up. Just Bit of a flat ending but otherwise enjoyable. The reader was a bit flat but did a good job.

struggled in the middle but the books ends with the good guys winning th le end

Love this author love this narrator, not his best book lacks action, but full of the history of the Emeril Isle, which is near and dear to my heart!

Slow Developing

Well, I still enjoy these stories. This one was slow to develop and still slow to the end. It lacked even the excitement during the battle for the ship.

I blows me away every time I listen to Joe Barrett narrate a book how much he has mastered the art and craft of narration. I could listen to him all day, every day!

A little slow in places, but entertaining and worth waiting for the good parts

The gutsy responsiveness of our country and the particular island chosen be our partner and ally in the future. United States could use more of the determined spirit of that nation.

The old fashioned devotion to do what is right.

Good plot and ideas for future partners to fight what is already global insanity

Good story but

I enjoyed the novel; but the author's love of Ireland was distracting. Ireland has been a consistently a neutral nation; I found the idea that they would allow a US base on their soil implausible,

During WW2 thousands of Allied sailors (both merchant marine and military) died because Ireland denied Allied use of their southern ports for anti submarine duty. At the end of the war they sent a delegation to express their official regrets when Hitler died; they expressed no regrets when Roosevelt died.

As a neutral this was their right; but the idea that they would change so dramatically to balance their budget was just too much.
