He's not alone, though...he has the memory of Patrick Deen to guide him at every turn - for better or for worse. With a desert full of snakes and cults and messengers and cliff-dwellers and all manner of after-doomsday weirdness ahead of him, plus a sinister blonde woman thundering dangerously along his trail, hunting him for reasons he can't possibly fathom, Ben is going to need all the guidance he can get.

But when he learns the real reason for the train robbery - and of the mysterious doctor who controls the bandits and performs gruesome experiments on M-Day survivors in his remote lab, protected by an army of dusters-well...this might be one adventure he can't machete his way out of.

without spoilits... I can only say OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

could be a brain tumor indeed... oh man, I love our anti-hero and our hero is my favorite of the pair, so it's awesome. well told, well strung along and wonderful premise. we can thank the doctor for everything... or perhaps just ben. I still think this author is better at scary than funny because every funny moment comes with a split second of horror. well read, I love this reader a lot. all the right inflection in all of the right places. I'm off to the third in the series now!

AMAZING STORY

The ending hit me like having my brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick.

On a train bound for nowhere...

when I started the book, I thought that this was a waste of time.
Wow, I was wrong.
This is a true gem.
but ya gotta get past the first hour or so.

This book was so much fun and well written/ well performed. I love the Ben and Patrick characters.

Comedic apocalypse story with hints of pop culture.

Great book 2. Continue the story and we finally find out the fate of his dear friend. I love how he sprinkles in a little hints of pop culture.
