Multidimensional characters
The writing and characterization are as always with Val’s books, utterly captivating. As a reader/listener you are in Edinburgh and can almost feel the wind from the Forth. This is simply brilliant. The pace, the suspense keeps you reading/listening till the last word and I always feel bereft that I don’t know what happens to these “people” next. They are like friends that you want to meet up with over a brew and chat about anything and everything. Val is simply amazing.
