Professional duty trumps personal issues as the detectives focus on their latest case, a killer whose choice of victim is solitary women. The investigation raises a lot of questions around the killer's means and opportunities. Leslie would be happy if the questions stopped there, but she's also wondering why she'd rather spend time with these women - specifically Casey - than with her fiance.

Casey would also like to stick to business, but as the case intensifies, she finds herself also watching Tori and Sam and wondering how they balance their public personas and private passions. Figuring it out is a pointless exercise, she tells herself, because that kind of lightning can't possibly strike twice.

Rushed

Again it felt rushed and like there could've been several more chapters that went into more details. but over all another hit! can't wait for the next one

So happy with book #3 will be getting book #4 tomorrow. I can wait go see what happens with the girls

Best Narration ever...

This book is one of three in the Hunters Way Series. It will not disappoint you. Its just as exciting as the First book.. im looking forward to Devils Rock. and Angel fire crossovers.

Another View

Ok GH when I said I wanted another sequel I meant with Hunter and her partner — Sam!! I think the love story resembled the previous book too much and too fast!! Maybe it would be nice to see hunter before she met Sam and her escapades there — I would like to just see her solve a case and come home to Sam! Other than that I loved the story!!

Wow, another great by Gerri Hill.

Gerri Hill not only writes great romance, but nail biting thrillers. Enjoy the plot and try to untangle the mystery while taking a cold shower because of the passionate love scenes.

Cliffhanger let down

I wasn't a fan of the cliffhanger but I didn't want to rate this poorly mainly for personal reasons. It was a little difficult to get through and the personal reason is that I work with two women named Leslie and Casey...and they happen to be mother and daughter.

Great series

really enjoy these characters. wish there had been one more chapter to this book. Great read.

Very Similar to Hunter’s Way

Tori and Sam are not the main characters in the book.They’re in there, but the story/focus is not on them.
If you’ve read Hunter’s Way, you’ve basically read this story as well. Same premise; Casey O’Connor has joined Tori’s homicide team. 6 months later Leslie Tucker joins the team .
She’s engaged, and lives with Michael, a guy who designs video games. Leslie meets Casey, struggles with her sexual identity, chooses Casey and now deals with breaking off her engagement.
The detective part introduces the case of John and Patrick Doe. This was the most intriguing part of the book. The case is picked up again in the book Devil’s Rock, with two FBI agents Cameron and Andrea.
Casey isn’t a favorite character of mine. Her accent, and Tori twin persona was very irritating.
This book (except for the detective part) seemed to just be filler for a third book. Other books in the series were much better.

I prefer a murder mystery

I like books where
something happens.
Grand theft, murder...
This one drags while the new one emotes and emotes.... Jeez.
It is a good book. (The murder here is boring) I like this author. Others of hers are livelier and
....

Just one thing.

I love Gerri Hill books. But now I remember why I stopped this series. I hate when an Author keeps
you hanging just for more money. For book 2, left hanging and still in book 3 she went totally to
another case and left you hanging in book 3. And that my friend is cold.
