Very insightful and heartwarming.

Very insightful and heartwarming. It made me feel safe with my faith questions and confident I am loved by Jesus even when I don't understad it all.The narrator did an excellent job.

a warm compress on a weary heart

this book found me at the right place in the right time. for any who may find themselves in a spiritual wilderness, perhaps if you’re in the US as a response to the intense division under the umbrellas of “evangelical” and “Christian” this book challenged me to look at Jesus again. To read my Bible again. To show up fully to the life God has given me. (Yes, it’s true, the narration is really hard to get past but a few chapters in I was able to get used to it).

Love her work!

Highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to grow in faith. A wonderful and thought provoking listen!

I loved this book!

Sarah Bessey could be telling my story. It was so refreshing to hear her perspective of sorting through the evangelical past of her life and not rejecting it all but putting the pieces back together in a way that honors her tradition but also embraces the real message of Jesus. I loved it. It challenges me to not reject all of my evangelical heritage, but to find ways to weave my heritage into the knowledge I have now.

So glad I stuck with it

Wonderful content read by a somewhat annoying narrator. Expressive and well done, but the narrator seems to be condescending at times.

However, the content was incredible. Lilting narrative and a cathartic tale made this worth the time to "read."

Sarah is an old soul. If you a Boomer that grew up in the Jesus movement of the 60’s and 70’s you will get her!

Warm and wonderful

Loved listening to this book. Comforting at the end of a long day. Like mini sermons, straight from the heart of a down to earth, happy clappy Christian. This book gave me permission and helped me make peace with my faith.

Clarity

This book gave me clarity on what I have been thinking and wrestling with for many years! I cried tears of relief and deep understanding of the journey God has asked me to go on with Him. I could never quite put my finger on it until I read this book. Itwas great to know that I was not alone.
