Not Hilarious

There were some funny spots but it was only heartfelt and mildly depressing to listen to during the day.

Another hit.

The messages, and heart Nick Spalding puts into his books is inspiring. Time to be more like Red.

So, so good!

I started out wanting to punch the main character, Will- which, I suppose, is entirely the point. I am 47, and here's this whiny twit complaining about being old at 45. But learning his reasons, and waiting him find his way, with the help of his forever young father, and long suffering wife was a hell of a story! I spent the last hour of the book very emotional - both in tears and laughing out loud! I highly recommend this- and all of Nick's books that I've read/ listened to so far.

Endearing

Absolute escapist fiction
The narration was great, characters well developed and who would’t want a llama named chunky lumps

The story its self made me feel good some laughter. Well written a story I won’t soon forget.

The description of the father and how he lived his life making everything worthwhile, entertaining I also like how the end ended

Humor, life lessons, and humor!

As an only daughter I had little interest in reading a book about a father son relationship. But I decided to give it a try because I love this author so much. I am so glad I did. It tackles serious topics like again, depression, overcoming fear, regret about life choices, and the importance of forgiveness, all while including Nick Spaulding’s typical laugh out loud humor. It is a must read for anyone!

Not funny like his other books

I thought Nick Spalding was a funny author…this book is NOT funny, or entertaining at all.

Not Funny

I am disappointed. This book completely lacks the signature humor and cleverness Nick usually delivers. I was consistently bored and ultimately let down after looking forward to this book coming out.

Skip it

I just didn't love this one. I normally love Nick Spalding. The main character spends his whole time being afraid. Red is a good character but I don't like prog rock and there is just a lot of references to that and the whole rock and roll lifestyle in there which is completely unrelatable. I don't like the main character's wife either. Overall the book is MUCH more sad than it is funny and I choose Spalding for the humor. Pick literally any other book by this author. As I'm about to do.
