my only gripe with the narration is that everyone pronounces the Welsh words differently and Mariah's narrator makes Valec's voice too rough

I know some people predicted Sel being Erebus's son, but it still surprised me because it was revealed at the last second and I didn't think there was enough time for it to be true. I did think the crown would give Sel clarity by making him not need Bre's magic, but it doesn't look that way. King, knight, and prince (I still hope for a poly ending, both because representation is awesome and because sel deserves a happy ending too).
The scene where Bre has her first time is very tasteful and even magical (figuratively). Her implicit connection with nick made their relationship boring to me in the first book, but this book made it a little stronger. also ALICE!!! I hope that as son of death, sel can get her back, but it would make sense for her death to be final because it shows that kings have to make hard decisions and stuff.

Fantastic.

This book, like the first two, was amazing. I really hope that she writes another.

After the long wait, this book did not disappoint! I will say though, it requires refreshing your memory from the previous book so that the reader can follow. I loved the different points of view and feel that they took the book to another level. The narrators were awesome! I also enjoyed the new characters. The book is very well written, with engaging and likeable characters. As always, the ending blew my mind!🤯🤯 Tracy, please don't make us wait another 2 years for the next one, because I can't wait to see how this is going to play out. Selwyn's mother, please step to the front. We have questions!😝

This series has forever changed me

Just read the book please, whatever you do. Tracy Deon is a master storyteller.I’m still reeling from that ending.

Lawyd have mercy! My nerves are bad..[always] when reading her books! They are so good, and surprising. All in all, per usual... it's a 10/10, 5/5, no slip ups. Tracy you did it again girl...now when's book 4 coming out??

basically I've had to do a lot of driving and I finished this book in 3 days....... sooooo when will book 4 be available. surely you can already guess this story does not disappoint...... I think what I'm going to do is take it back to book 1 & 2 and then listen to this one again.

All I can say is AMAZING!

Tracey Deonn the woman you are. This was the best kind of roller coaster. I didn't know what to expect but my goodness I was not disappointed. I can't wait for the final the book.

In-freaking-credible!!

This book was a masterpiece of Black YA fiction. Shit this is a masterpiece of fiction in general. The author weaved the information from books 1 & 2 into this book to refresh our memory and I really appreciated that. I genuinely love when Tracy Deon has taken this story. The character development for all the characters was there. The world building and magical development was incredible. The plot had my heart racing because it was filled with action, and there were some twists and turns. I also enjoy the multiple POV for the first couple parts of the book. Bree is trying to navigate the decision she made at the end of book. She is really is trying to navigate so much in this book. The ending had me crying and then 5 seconds later like WTF! This book was written with love and precision.
