The USS Seawolf was one of the greatest submarine raiders of all time. Having narrowly avoided the attack on Pearl Harbor the Seawolf set out for the seas of the Pacific to wreak havoc on Japanese shipping. Joseph Melvin Eckberg was on the Seawolf from her maiden voyage and remained with her until January 1943. As chief radioman he was instrumental in assisting Captain Frederick Warder to find and destroy enemy targets. From the claustrophobia of being trapped under water and the overwhelming fear of depth charges to the joys of aiding the war-effort and the camaraderie on the ship.

War in the Pacific Revisited
Over the sea & under with the Hardy Boy twins. Good combat story together with wholesome romance (and a little very passé strict Catholic guilt thrown in).

Love Homewood’s books!
One glaring error—has to just be an oversight—is when author details the “fast carrier group” steaming towards Japan. Says the Hornet had 15 Army Mitchell bombers on deck…and states they were B52’s. Obviously, we all know they were B-25’s…this was likely a simple keystroke mistake. That notwithstanding, loved the book!

Terrific
The realism is amazing and the characters are truly amazing. Definitely a 5 star novel that has combined the actually of WW2 with characters that have the feeling of realism that is impossible to deny.

Hate the ending
Setup is predictable storyline is interesting lots of action lots of bang and boom however, it is a predictable story and I really hated the game but still it’s worth the credit

Only downside was the rather abrupt ending before the war even ends leaves you wanting more.

as a catholic,I got a kick out of this book,
I went to the same kind of high school as Andy,..The Jesuit priest always said that stuff about sex was to product children ,LUST ,;;; The Catholic Religion is the only true Religion, BUNK. .well they were wrong,wrong,wrong ....Once you read the bible on your own,it,s clear CHRIST is the answer.....anyway,I loved the book,only wish there was a follow up... Also liked the part of Micheal dealing with the worm Capt. T. Prescott Sammon. Michael is so strong & healthy...and a Great submarine Captian..?..This book is so good and with Corey M. Snow narration, I listened to it twice,,the n a month later ,listen again.....GREAT BOOK ! ! ! !
