A great investment for couples either getting married or already married

Very real and practically book. There were some great examples from marriages used throughout to book. Very practical things to do to improve your marriage.

Corrective Lenses!

My eyes on marriage were given corrective Lenses!
I absolutely appreciate the understanding I now have of a Contractual Marriage and a Covenant Marriage.
Excellent narrator. The speed of his reading was perfect and not at all monotone.

Awesome Book!

This book was very eye opening and helpful. It is a great tool. I will definitely share with others how helpful it has been. So grateful for the friends told us about it. Thank you Mr. Chapman for your obedience in writing what the Lord laid on your heart. What a Blessing to My Marriage it has been!

Excellent read with practical guidelines!

This book by Gary Chapman has been wonderful to listen to! He engages the audience well and he gives practical guidelines throughout the book to help in many specific areas of your marriage!

I gave this book four stars due to my disagreement with Mr. Chapman's opinion on staying in an abusive marriage (he discusses this in one of the first chapters on covenant marriage). At first I thought that I must have miss heard or misunderstood what the author was saying. After research I found that Mr. Chapman truly does advise spouses that are being abused to stay in the relationship. Yes with help, but, because of his view on covenant marriages he does not agree with dissolving the marriage in any case. I understand that this is simply my opinion, however, I could not in good conscience give this book 5 stars because of this opinion.

However! Outside of this one disagreement with Mr. Chapman. I fully support this book and how wonderful the advice and the engagement with the audience is!

best book I've read this far on breaking negative communication patterns and learning to understand yourself and seeking to understand your spouse rather than change them. learning to encourage their strengths, appreciating your differences, seeing them as assets rather than liabilities. Using God as the model for a healthy marriage relationship.

This book helped

I like this author. This book helped me improve communication with my fiancée, before we got married and now it continues to be a good guide in my marriage. The things I really got out of this book was communication and how to improve spiritual growth together.

It was a very informative book, a bit dry at times

It was a very informative book, a bit dry at times due to the narrators style, but well worth the time. I have been applying the principals taught here to my own marriage with very good results. I find that relistening to this over and over helps best, until it sinks in.

a lot of great ideas

While there was a lot of Christian stuff in the book, the rest of the information translates just fine to non Christians. A lot of solid info and examples. Very detailed. I appreciated that a lot.
