Comprehensive history of Northern Ireland

Began listening to this audiobook on my flight back from a visit to Northern Ireland. After listening to this book, I have a much deeper understanding as to the origins of Northern Ireland and all of the unfortunate events and poor decisions that culminated in the Troubles. The writing is engaging and the narration is excellent. Would highly recommend.

even handed (to an American)

knowing nothing of Northern Irelands troubles, their causes and the resulting peace, I found this history an engaging and evenhanded tour through this divided and divisive region.

Excellent. Provides great clarity to those familiar and unfamiliar with the topic.

Simply put…the author clearly knows what he is talking about and is fair in his presentation of the facts…in a context where that is oft times difficult.
