Morning news anchor Neil Klein has a mouth that often gets away from him. When one of the things he says on air puts his life in danger, the bratty “little” resists the bodyguard his producer hires. He doesn't need anyone to run his life and nobody is going to tell him what to do. At least, that's what he says when he fires the hot new bodyguard.

Except that former Ranger Brody Johnson isn’t willing to leave. He was brought in to do a job and he’s going to do it. Neil needs a keeper, that much is obvious. Also clear? The only one uniquely qualified for the position is a protective former Dom with all the skills that a twenty-year military career can teach a man.

This is a 25k stand-alone novella. Watch out for adorable cats, a little who’s really a middle, and enough Mario references to make you hear the game’s music beeping and booping through your mind. You’ll probably catch yourself giggling out loud, but what else can you expect from a Susan Hawke book?

So cute!

I love this short cute Daddy/Boy story! Brody and Neil are so sweet and cute together. I just love this age play story so much. Then to have Michael Dean doing the narration is amazing. I just love listening to him. He brings so much life into the story and makes me love the story even more.

Loved this!!

When I was listening to this I had to remember it was a short book cause I kept thinking how quickly they got together and then had to remember it was a short book, but I loved it!! I have to thank Susan for getting me into Daddy/Boy or little books. I kept digging in my heals and was like this is odd but will check it out. SO GLAD I DID!! Michael Dean did an amazing job and I just loved how Neil and Brody got together.

News Boy

News Boy is a sweet short story about Brody, a former Ranger and current bodyguard to Neil, a newsman and little. Though it turns out Neil needs a Daddy more than a bodyguard. They really are perfect for each other.
Narrator Michael Dean does another marvelous job.

News Break

Circumstances bring them together but Brody and Neil are a good fit. I like how both of them seemed sort of surprised by it. This was a fun story with a side of drama.

Great short story

This was a well written short story!! Neil was little (who was really a middle?) who's IRL job helped to make him a target. He needs a body guard and Daddy. He gets Brody, a former Ranger who doesn't take Neil's attitude!! This was an awesome story!! Michael Dean does an amazing job with narration!!

Wow

Loved this story it was fun and sweet. Loved the bratty Neil he is always getting in trouble. The sexy ranger Brody has all the good daddy vibes. They are great together. Loved this short novella hope there is more to come. The narrator did a amazing job.

Cute Novella

First, I got this audiobook as an ARC. Second, I really wanted this book for a few reasons. Mainly, I adore anything by Susan Hawke. Then, there’s Michael Dean’s voice, huge fan! Lastly, the summary really caught my attention and I thought a novella was a perfection introduction to the daddy/“little” area; a perfect learning step.

Neil has a life where he has mentally regresses to a “little” to reset himself every day. But he needs a bodyguard and that allows Brody to enter the picture, a former Dominant and about to be a current daddy to Neil. They both give and take to each other both emotional and physical.

Brody has retired his “Dom days”, but he has found his new kink with the role of daddy with Neil. It’s a learning process for both of them. Brody helps taking care of Little Neil, but by the end of the short novella also being a boyfriend with Adult Neil. Very defined and I liked their relationship.

A Susan Hawke Book with a Michael Dean narration is always a good combination. If you’re looking for another series featuring these two go get the Lovestrong Series! 100% recommend these two.

Loved it

Brody and Neil were wonderful together.
I read the book a few days ago and absolutely loved it. Then when I saw it came out on audio I had to have it. Michael has a way of bringing charters to a whole new level that you did not know was missing when you read it. The voice he did for Brody was so perfect it was like when someone has a smooth glass of scotch and then talks to you. that's what Michael's voice for Brody was. This will be a relisten for me for sure.

Sweet Middle Story

This was a short very compact audio. It was done very well and MD did an excellent job of capturing the brattiness of Neil.
Brody was wonderfully patient
It was Dual POV
Brody is hired to guard Neil. Both are lonely and need each other.
This is a sweet middle story of love and trust.
Minimal angst and very sweet.

Great short

This is a fun daddy/boy story complete with tantrums and just enough action and danger for the length of the book. First off, let me say it’s refreshing to find an age play story with a middle instead of a little. There is also the sweetness, romance, and humor I’ve come to associate with the author. I’m honestly hoping this doesn’t remain a standalone and continues as a series of some sort as I think there’s a lot left to be explored with Neil and Brody as well as other characters that appear.

As usual, Michael Dean does a good job performing Susan’s work.
