He knows it’s a bad idea to bring someone into his home that he is so attracted to and completely inappropriate for, but he can’t just leave the guy hanging in the wind. Their friendship comes easily, and Byrum loves that Jefferson seems to be trusting him more and more with each day that passes. He’s not surprised at all to find himself in love with the young man.
Acting on their attraction is scary because they both value what they have already, but spending so much time together...something’s got to give.

Sam reminds me of the horses we rescue. Scarred, skittish, and…strong. Beautiful. He’s a bit of a hat-stealer, and, truth be told, I’m a little leery of his chosen profession. The things he does in front of a camera...well, it makes me blush just thinkin' about it. But if that scar on his face is any indication, he could use somebody at his back. I aim to be that person. And yeah, some of my parts get confused by the fact that he’s all delicate and sparkly, but that’s not important. Even if the good hand lotion has somehow made it into the tack room.

Extremely Disappointed
I normally love this author. I might have even enjoyed this book but unfortunately I did not jive with this narrator. Like at all. I hate saying it but if the rest of the series becomes available on Audible I won't be able to purchase it if the same narrator was used. I plan on going back and reading the ebook of this at some point. I probably would have liked the story better.
