Brilliant story & narration!

I've listened to Abby Craden narrate lots of books. In this one she is STELLAR with the vast number of characters and different voices to tell the story. This book surprised me in the best way and I love all the plot twists that A.L. Brooks weaves throughout it.

Loved the book

Here is the truth, I love books with agents and soldiers and cops, but I am not keen on supper heroes. I love Abby Craden as narration, so I decided to get this book and I really enjoyed it.
AL Brooks created these lovely old ladies supper heroes, and Abby Craden gave them wonderful voices. The only voice I didn’t like was the very childish voice of agent walker.

Very fun feel-good story with great character narration

Thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t have much more to add, but audible is requiring a 15 word minimum. Oh one last thing, I hope as many conservatives as possible listen to this book.

Very Entertaining

The dialog and back story in this book is entertaining and fun. The conceptualized characters are inspiring. Loved this from beginning to the end.

Fun and imaginative

This was a really cute book. I listened to the audio version, and Abby Craden does an excellent job. I have no idea how she can do so many voices and not get confused. There are lots of characters and they all have their own histories and personalities. There are really two romances in play in this book and they're all so cute! This book made me laugh out loud several times. It's also exciting and has romantic bits, too. I loved the Power family and all their talents. I know the author isn't American although the book takes place in the US. There were a few Britishisms, which were a little distracting and mildly confusing. Just a fun adventure that's a little farfetched in a really enjoyable way!

Funny Cast of Characters

Genna Fox is counting down to retirement when she boss gives her a new rookie agent as a partner. To get her out of her hair she sends her out on a wild goose chase for a cold case. When the tip leads to the resurrection of a previous agent, Genna’s world goes upside down. Meanwhile in a retirement home in Missouri, four old maid sisters who are retired super heroes handled by Agent Fox are raising the suspicions of their nurse. Now the five Power sisters are being called back into service to defeat their old nemesis who plans for America are not good. A fabulous job by Abby Craden with a large cast of characters who are laugh out loud funny.

Refreshing to have aging women as superheroes.

What a fun book to listen to. Thank goodness Abby Caden was The Voice made all the difference in the storyline. If it would’ve been AI it would’ve been difficult to get through.

Unusual, fun listen!

This was a very fun listen - and completely unique. Part of the Superheroines collection by Ylva Publishing authors, this story by A. L. Brooks focuses on a group of geriatric former superheroes that have since been put out to pasture in a Missouri retirement home. Their former handler Geena Fox, waiting out the days until she can retire from an unnamed federal agency, is stunned when a link from their past resurfaces - a significant one that conjures up old feelings and leads to a new adventure none of them saw coming.
On the surface, it may not seem a story like this would have mass appeal, but really - it was quite entertaining. Especially in the care of Abby Craden who really outdoes herself. The sheer number of characters she is required to perform - each with their own unique voice - was astounding. And as usual - she nailed it. Especially the four cantankerous older women - a few of whom curse like sailors. Some of the things coming out of their mouths had me laughing out loud. This a large and varied cast - not everyone is of the older variety. There is a young rookie agent assigned to Fox who gets more than she bargained for in her new job, a young nurse from the retirement home that becomes part of the team and several other peripheral characters. Additionally, there are a few sweet romances that come into play, secondary to the main story.
This is a superhero story unlike any I've seen before so if you think you might enjoy that, or are a fan of Craden's and want to appreciate her mad skills, give this one a try.

This one was ok. Not my favorite by this author. At least it was narrated by Abby Craden, that's always a plus.
