When Scareville, a store specializing in the sale of all things creepy and unusual opens in a former funeral home in the sleepy town of Lakewood, Ohio, the whole town goes insane with anticipation. RJ Roles put so much “life” into the characters of this book, that despite whether or not I liked them, I was hooked (hook-er?) to find out what would happen to them. RJ crafted gore, violence, personalities and humor just perfectly. This is hands down one of the best “zombie” books I’ve read. It was an absolute blast to read (listen) to this book and I’ll totally be re-listening to it again.
Also- Spencer Dillehay is an absolute gem. He is an automatic listen, every time. He is able to bring the characters to fruition and has the ability to slightly (and sometimes drastically) give them each a different voice and personality, without sounding absolutely ridiculous. He’s one of the top narrators out there!

After a young couple uses the board in a graveyard, a tornado appears out of nowhere, unearthing all the dead in the small town and bringing them back to life. The residents of Lordsland have no idea the terrors that are about to be unleashed upon them.
This zombie novel was a TRIP. There's plenty of gore and disturbing moments, plenty of characters you want to see fail, and a lot of stressful moments. There were so many characters that it was a little hard for me to keep track who was who (that's definitely a me thing - exhausted mom brain has a rough time with this sometimes).
The narrator did an excellent job!
