Fr. Gabriele Amorth is considered one of the most important figures in the Italian Catholic Church. Not only was he a renowned exorcist, he was a journalist, a noted theologian, and biblical exegete. The recent Hollywood film about his life (though highly embellished) has only added to his mystique.

Behind the man was a powerful faith. He could not have performed exorcisms for thirty years without supernatural aid. The mysteries–including the luminous mysteries introduced by St. John Paul II–were designed to offer meditations on the life of Christ. Using Scripture, biblical and historical research, and Church teachings, Fr. Amorth brings these mysteries to life. He takes the reader through the entirety of the life of Christ. As an Anglican/Protestant just dipping my toe into the Rosary (and Marian devotions, in general), I thoroughly enjoyed Fr. Gabriel's exposition of the mysteries of the Rosary. I plan to re-listen and refer back to this book frequently.

The quality of the writing.

I loved the whole book, it is extremely thoughtful provoking. You should listen to it two or three times.

Good reflections on the mysteries

This Roman exorcist provides a service to us who pray the rosary with his brief meditations on all the mysteries of the rosary. He provides a point of view which allows the reader to take their place at each scene without sensationalizing and grounded in solid theology.
