The Great Recession hit older Americans harder than any other group. Savings and investments built up over a lifetime were suddenly wiped out or needed to be used to make ends meet. Following massive layoffs, older Americans discovered they were no longer valued by employers and found it difficult, if not impossible, to find a decent job. Many took minimum wage jobs at a time in their lives when such exertion was hazardous to their health. They simply had no choice.
I know. I was one of them.
As I searched for employment using the Internet, I saw a number of websites that needed simple tasks done. Not big money at first but money easily made from my home computer. I then discovered I could make a steady income by giving input on new product launches, placing ads on my website, testing new products, and a number of other easy tasks that required little time or effort but generated a steadily increasing income. Within six months I no longer needed a job. I was making all the money I needed.
