Such a good read!

Oh my goodness! Such a good book. As a parent, educator, etc., this book was a reminder to stay observant and seek help when needed. The book was well-written and the audio performance enhanced the emotion. Definitely recommend this book.

AMAZING

I have only felt so emotional while reading/listening to a book once and it was the Hate You Give. This book made me feel speechless.

I love this book and especially the powerful message behind it I also liked how surprised u was at the end of the book since I wasn’t expecting that. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Specially to teens.

A Reminder

This book is a reminder that we never know what a child is going through. This story was well written and brought me to tears numerous times. It's lesson to us all to be involved and speak up because this could easily happen. Loved the book and I highly recommend it for teens and adults.

Confused and Entertained

In the middle it was struggle to get through because of all the back and forth through time but once I knew why it all made sense. The narrator did a good job. her voice was easy to listen to.

Outstanding emotional rollercoaster

You know, this book was awesome as it truly grabbed every part of my soul and emotion. I can’t remember the last time I cried reading or even listening to a book and here I was doing my chores with my headphones on having to sit down and sob like a baby for like fifteen minutes. This whole story really stresses the importance of checking on one another and not just pushing it aside when you think of someone. We live in day and age that everyone wants to mind their own business and be antisocial and oh what a popular statement it is to say “I hate people” but seriously it stressed the importance of being a village and asking questions and digging deeper if things don’t seem right. This book has given a great view of mental illness. This story has truly tugged at my soul for so many reasons. It might take a while before moving on to the next. Happy reading.

A Good Listen

Overall, this was a good story. It can get confusing to follow but I guess it’s supposed to be like that? Especially if you’re trying to make sense of “the after” and “before the before” etc. I wish the parts where the narrator spoke slang was a little more believable and less proper.

Very good read

This book was very sad but very well written. I love the characters. This book address is child abuse, community involvement, and parenting support in a very real way.
