Cada vez que subo las escaleras del Camp Nou y de pronto veo el fulgor del pasto iluminado, en ese momento que siempre nos recuerda a la infancia, digo lo mismo para mis adentros: hay que tener mucha suerte para que te guste mucho un deporte y te toque ser contemporáneo de su mejor versión. Tengo nostalgia del presente cada vez que juega Messi. Los relatos que componen este libro fueron escritos entre los mundiales de Sudáfrica 2010 y Brasil 2014 y los atraviesa una sensación alarmante: la felicidad es tan efímera como el festejo del delantero que grita el gol sin saber que, a sus espaldas, el juez de línea ha levantado el banderín.
