Endlich hat es die NASA geschafft: Der erste Mensch hat soeben seinen Fuß auf die Oberfläche unseres Nachbarplaneten gesetzt. Damit beginnt ein langer Forschungsaufenthalt, für den die Wissenschaftler ins All geschickt wurden.
Doch die vier Astronauten der Mars-Expedition sind nicht die einzigen mit diesem Reiseziel: Die durch Spenden finanzierte Initiative "Mars für Alle" zieht es ebenfalls auf den roten Planeten - die zwanzig Männer und Frauen möchten dort sesshaft werden und die erste Siedlung auf dem Mars gründen. Schon der Anfang birgt Schwierigkeiten: Das Raumschiff der MfA Organisation, das kurz nach der NASA eintreffen soll, havariert im Orbit. Nur die vier NASA-Astronauten können jetzt noch helfen und versuchen, die Leben zu retten. Dabei ahnen sie nichts von der unvorstellbaren Katastrophe, die sich hinter ihrem Rücken anbahnt - und die ihre Existenz grundlegend in Frage stellt. Ganz zu schweigen von den alltäglichen Tücken, die ein Aufenthalt auf einem fremden Planeten mit sich bringen kann. Es beginnt ein Kampf um begrenzte Ressourcen, menschlichen Zusammenhalt und das nackte Überleben.
Brandon Q. Morris, 50, ist Physiker und beschäftigt sich beruflich und privat schon lange mit den spannenden Phänomenen des Alls. So ist er für den redaktionellen Teil eines Weltraum-Magazins verantwortlich und hat mehrere populärwissenschaftliche Bücher über Weltraum-Themen geschrieben. Er wäre gern Astronaut geworden, musste aber aus verschiedenen Gründen auf der Erde bleiben. Ihn fasziniert besonders das "was wäre, wenn". Sein Ehrgeiz ist es deshalb, spannende Science-Fiction-Geschichten zu erzählen, die genau so passieren könnten - und vielleicht auch irgendwann Realität werden.

Great for learning German.
Learning a new language is all about input. I purchased this set of three books at Amazon and joined Audible to get access to the audio books. (both the books and the audio books are also available in English). I estimate that the books are at the A2-B1 level and well worth the time to listen and read. I have listened at least six times and read the books three times. At no time did I need an English/German dictionary but I did use the Langenscheidt Dictionary Deutsch als Fremsprache. The narrator is great! The stories are great! I found the entire experience to be fun and exciting. There many more books and audio books available by the same author and narrator in case you want more.
