I have read a lot of modern literature about Rome and Roman's but the 'Marius Mules' series takes a completely unique view of the Roman Legionaires life and battle rigor.

great story.
My only gripes are minor. The ground is not a floor. Arrows of a few ounces no matter how forcefully fired cannot throw a man anywhere. And "steed " should be used as little as possible.

Love this series!!!
This book dropped off in quality i.e. battles. This book is more on the hime side. It has an outstanding Gladiator snippet. I tend to get lost in the names and tribes but this series still keeps me up late as i follow the story.
