Highly recommend

This book was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t put it up. With just enough twists and turns that you don’t see coming I’d recommend this book to anyone who likes books about friendship, relationships, family, and drama.

My aching heart!

This read was perfect! My heart ached & squeezed tight and all I could do was hope for them to just fight for one another, like they both deserved. But life isn’t always so straight forward, people aren’t always on the same timeline as others which made this angsty read so relatable. Kandi Steiner did beautifully telling this story and I enjoyed it from start to finish!

Childhood friends to lovers, Best friend’s brother, Jasmine and Tyler hook up after having long time secret crushes on each other. The next day- Tyler says it was a mistake and Jasmine knows it’s time to leave their New Hampshire town.

Seven years later Jasmine’s best friend, Tyler’s sister is getting married and she has to face him again for the first time since that night.

The angst. The drama. I ate it up. and cried a little. 5 stars.

Emotional story with amazingly heartfelt narration ❤️

Let me just start with…. I INHALED THIS BOOK, despite being in the middle of moving. Loved it so so much!!
I am sucker for the childhood friends to lovers trope, and this had the added benefit of the “enemies stage” in between 😏✨

Kandi sure knows how to do angst, and this book had a bit of “A love letter to Whiskey” vibes. That crazy magnetic connection that forces 2 characters together despite all circumstances and reason. Something they can’t fight, something no time or distance can erase. LOVEEEEE IT!! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Be warned that these 2 lovebirds fall into some “morally gray” areas 🩶🩶🩶 I was totally on board as this is fiction after all, but perhaps you should check for any TWs. The 🎧audiobook🎧 for this is narrated by Holly Warren and she did an amazing job as single narrator. Very emotional and heartfelt interpretation. She has a very soothing voice too 💜 I also enjoyed how she modulated her voice for each character. Wonderful audio, I highly recommend it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WHAT A LOVE STORY!!

Heartbreak. Abandonment. Despair. Childhood experiences can leave deep scars.
Sometimes the right person comes along and makes things a little, or a lot, easier.
Jasmine meets Tyler when they are kids. He’s her best friend’s brother. She always felt safe with him and over time things developed. Needless to say, it didn’t work out. Years later they are forced to reconnect and feelings resurface. When you have such a genuine bond it doesn’t just sever. Everything snaps back into place like time didn’t pass. Ugh. WHAT A LOVE STORY. The passion. And sorrow. So much lost over a misunderstanding, even though it was with good intentions. It was like my soul was being ripped out of my chest when Jasmine was baring hers. Words so moving I highlighted almost everything. A love so deep she’ll let it all go and sacrifice her heart to keep others from breaking. If you have a “one that got away”, this is a book for you. The sad and happy tears I cried!! A beautifully written second chance love story full of angst and longing.

Fantastic story & narration!

This had everything you’d expect from a Kandi novel and it was so so good!! The angst, the steam, the heart-wrenching moments, and wonderful characters! I really enjoyed every minute of this one and Holly Warren was a fantastic narrator. She really made me feel every range of emotion, whether it was the characters’ pain and anguish in those tough moments or the joy in the heartwarming scenes.

Ok story

It was an ok story, I got bored, with story and listening. It seemed to have dragged on a bit.

So much angst! Make Me Hate You was so intense- there was so much passion and emotion.

Like that quote right there- emotional perfection. I felt Tyler and Jasmine's pain. The story is told only from Jasmine's POV, but it's easy to feel Tyler's anguish and heartache too. Make Me Hate You was real and raw and a story I just couldn't put down.

Narrator Holly Warren was new to me, but she did an excellent job. I will definitely be checking out her other performances.

All the feels!

Why has it taken me so long to read a Kandi Steiner book? This book had me FEEL so much. Jasmine is best friends with Morgan and Tyler when one night changes everything for her. She leaves town and doesn't return until Morgan is getting married. Seeing Tyler brings everything back.

Jasmine is someone who I loved. She had a bad childhood, but Tyler and Morgan stood by her through everything. They were her people. She fled when things got rough, but she does a lot of soul searching in this story to truly understand who she is and what she needs. I really loved the way she grew throughout the story.

Tyler punishes himself over and over again for something he thought he did wrong. There were times I wanted to shake him during this story, but I fell in love with him, too.

This was an amazing story with all the feels! Loved it!

I typically like to have two narrators, but this narrator did a great job with the story and it wasn't necessary for me to hear Tyler's voice.

Oh My Heart

It is my fault, I should not have been listening to this one while working, but this book had me in tears - at a few different points. This book was truly everything and filled my heart. Tyler is the best friend's older brother and Jasmine was just part of the family. They have the most perfect romantic story which starts off of friends, turns into something and then my heart breaks. I felt the narrators did such an amazing job giving this story a three dimensional depth which completely captured all my emotions and had me living and breathing this story. I felt the writing was amazing and had the perfect pace to consume me and take me on one of the best emotional escapes.

If you love yourself some angst - put on a seat belt this one won't disappoint.
