great story. good narrator.
Narrator has a really good voice.. the only complaint is he often puts the wrong emphasis on words and it can change the meaning of characters dialouge. Its clear by the context though so its really just an annoyance. story is excellent, riftwar saga is Feists best work.

Wonderful book, wonderful series.
My favorite series when I was younger. I was afraid it wouldn't live up to my memory, but if anything, it was better than I remembered. Narrator was excellent except missed correct inflection multiple times, pulling me out of the story. I'd like to give him a 4.5 but audible doesn't allow it.

a wonderful book
a bit short, but that is forgiven. The first book and this one are truly one large book, broken up for publishing and reading purposes. I thoroughly enjoyed this change of pace in writing style, when compared to other fantasy books, it is a breath of fresh air.

Still a very good story after 30 years
I read this the first time the day I found it in WH Smith. I had been checking daily. All this time later it still doesn't disappoint. This isn't a cookie cutter book like so many are these days. I don't do spoilers do I an not giving details.
The reading is great, other than some odd pronunciation of common words.

this us more of the story that you know. with this book 2 most of the characters should be familiar. however, it bounces between many characters like the end of book 1. so if you are okay with it you will love book 2. a great story is in here. actually, many great stories.

Had it's problems but overall, a good story
This was pretty good. first book too. I still wish the Main character could've done more but he ended up saving them all and got rewarded. recommended read. and there's more in the series. (there are issues with the story but I'm satisfied enough to not mention them.)
