This is a production note about this recording: chapters 6, 8-11 have the recording of the chapter twice. It makes the book appear long than it is and causes confusion for the listener. Please consider editing and republishing.

Double chapters

Great book but the audio has double chapters and the chapter numbers are not correct. So chapter 7 is actually chapter 6 and repeats itself twice. It’s hard to follow along and know where you are.

This book blows me away!

Oh that I would have discovered this book 15 years ago! Our destiny as women is in being Gods image bearer, which may or may not include marriage and motherhood. Which may or may not mean having a “perfect marriage or family”. I knew that but couldn’t have validated it over and over from the women in Scripture until I listened to this book! Read it!!

Title Misleading

This book was well written and the narrator was engaging. However, I was expecting to gain more insightful information pertaining to background of the characters vs the intellectual - hypothetical assumptions.

Disappointed

I was hoping this book would be more about the women's [in the Bible] stories. If you don't know their background or who they were you won't follow the author. The book focus on the value of women and has a repetitive message that "Women count" . I wish I hadn't bought it.

Material embarrasingly retro.

What could Carolyn Custis James have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Too EuroAm, too fundy, too accepting of male dominaion. Needs rewrite.

Disappointment (I really wanted to like it). It seemed so condescending to women.
