For all who earnestly seek to accept the Lord Jesus Christ’s loving invitation to come unto him and partake of the fruit of the tree of life, there is tremendous need for us to understand how literally and directly the adversary is endeavoring to defeat our discipleship by tampering with our thoughts.

Cunningly disguised as our own mental processes, Satan’s meddlings go way beyond what most people recognize as temptations. Thoughts that tear down our sense of worth and worthiness, undermine our hope and confidence, foster grudges and negative feelings toward others, and fill us with fear, doubt, and discouragement are also of satanic origin.

The biggest lies you will ever hear are in your head, masquerading as your own thoughts. Unfortunately, most people do not recognize these intrusions for what they actually are, nor where they’re coming from.

As a result, then, too many of us berate ourselves for the negative states of mind that derail our devotion and weaken our faith, and therefore needlessly struggle to dispel them. Pointedly, we can’t win the war if we’re fighting the wrong foe.

The purpose of this book is to:

1. Alert listeners to the prevalence of Satan's tactics and specifically what those tactics are;
2. Provide listeners with the mind-management skills to unmask the liar within, along with tools to repel his deceptions;
3. Encourage listeners to put greater trust in the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ and strengthen their beliefs in obtaining them;
4. Inspire listeners to sanctify the Lord God in their hearts by looking unto Christ in every thought.

This book is on par with John Pontius’ “Following the Light of Christ into His Presence” in terms of its ability to profoundly transform one’s life as we seek to become like our Savior. I highly recommend this if you are seeking a path to light and knowledge.

So inspired and helpful

The ideas expressed in the book were so inspiring and helpful. I didn’t realize just how subtle and effective the adversary’s influence is in our daily lives. I am much more aware of the cunning and craftiness of the adversary in our thoughts and minds. I am grateful to the author and the positive messages shared in this book. I am now armed with knowledge and counter strategies to defeat the sinister ploys and traps of the enemy that constantly stalks and preys upon our weaknesses.

All I can say is I am so thankful that Dennis wrote this book. I know that he has a very comfortable life and did not need to do this. I know it was inspired of God, and is a gift Dennis has to be able to share the most important principles in such a simple way. He masterfully exposes the tactics of the advisary and illuminates gospel truths in the simplest applications. I feel quickened by the information!

I love this book. It is powerful and helps me contemplate how much I can think about the way I think. Also, to recognize when the adversary is trying to influence us and how to overcome it. Definitely a book of encouragement and faith with very powerful stories to illustrate the purpose. I loved listening to it in Brother Deaton's own voice. I look forward to studying and marking the paperback book that I have.

The Epiphanies Just Kept Coming

I finished this book in less than a week. Quite a feat for its length and my schedule. But I was learning so much that I craved more. I have never had so many epiphanies in such a short amount of time.
So now I'm going to do something I don't do: I am ordering a hard copy in addition to the audible so that I can digest it slower, underline, and make notes. Thank you Dennis for your dedication to this message and your willingness to share it with me.
