Acerca de esta escucha
Why take the shortest, most direct route through life, when you could choose the wiggliest, most mountainous one possible?
Armed with a limited grasp of Spanish and determined to meet as many Lamas as possible, Anna and her friend Faye set off on a six-month journey along the spine of the largest mountain range in the world - the Andes.
Beginning in the bustling city of La Paz, the duo pedal south - through dense jungle, across pristine white salt flats and past towering volcanoes, following the path of thundering glacial rivers to the snow-tipped peaks of Patagonia.
Sleeping wild in their tents most nights, they endure 50-mph crosswinds and catastrophic crashes, and go head to head with one very determined saddle sore called Sally. By the time they make it to the southernmost tip of the continent, they have cycled 5,500 miles and ascended over 100,000 metres through the mighty Andes - equivalent to 11 times the height of Everest.
Told from the seat of Anna's bicycle, Llama Drama is a witty and compelling account of life at its rawest and most rich. For anyone who has ever wanted to journey through the stunning natural landscapes of South America - this story is for you.

Running solo and unsupported comes with obvious logistical as well as physical challenges, but running is also a common language.

Welcome to the Barkley Marathons, a fever dream of an ultra event, inspired by a prison break, heralded by a conch blast, paid for in cigarettes and socks, and completed only by a select few. A race in which competitors haul themselves up mountains, through extreme weather conditions, beyond pain and exhaustion, mile after mile. Completed 60 miles? That’s just the fun run. In the Spell of the Barkley is a story of sporting obsession, exploring what drives individuals to challenge themselves at the limits of what is possible – and what it takes to succeed.

Historia
At age 22, Charlie Walker left home in search of adventure. Fleeing the boredom that comes with comfort, he set off on a secondhand bicycle. The aim was simple: to pedal to the furthest point in each of Europe, Asia, and Africa. He didn’t train or plan. He just started. The journey was an escape from an unremarkable existence, a pursuit of hardship, and a chance to shed the complacency of middle England. From the brutality of winter on the Tibetan plateau, to the claustrophobia of the Southeast Asian jungle, the quest provided Charlie with ample opportunity to test his mettle.

I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

As a child, Maggie Downs often doubted that she would ever possess the courage to visit the destinations her mother dreamed of one day seeing. "You are braver than you think," her mother always insisted. That statement would guide her as, over the course of one year, Downs backpacked through seventeen countries - visiting all the places her mother, struck with early-onset Alzheimer's disease, could not visit herself - encountering some of the world's most striking locales while confronting the slow loss of her mother.

After purchasing one-way flights from New York City to Paris, Kyle James and his girlfriend Ashley quit their day jobs, planned futures, and daily paradigms to see as much of the world as they could. In 114 days, they trekked across 15 countries and 38 cities with nothing but their backpacks, their smartphones, and each other. Not Afraid of the Fall is the unvarnished story of their off-the-cuff journey: from cliff-jumping off Croatia's untouched coasts to bathing with rescued elephants in Thailand and far beyond.

Historia
At forty years old, a successful writer, husband and father, no longer toiling on offshore drilling rigs, was Paul Carter happily nestled in the cotton wool of suburban life enjoying the fruits of his labour? Was he f**k! With his manic life left far behind and the perfect opportunity to take it easy stretched before him what else would a middle-aged, bike obsessed, man want? Yes, that's right, he'd want to be the first guy to ride around Australia on an underpowered experimental motorcycle that runs on used cooking oil, wouldn't he? Preferably without getting hit by a semi-trailer full of bridge parts.

What a Ride! Plucky Brit Took Me to New Heights!
If traversing mountain passes on your bike, naked riding, complete exhaustion, and traveler's tummy issues aren't for you, DO. NOT. FRET. Anna does it all for you, so you can stay in the comfort of your own life and ride the Andes vicariously through this book.
The gorgeous scenery backdropped against impossible biking feats and harrowing escapes from possible rabid dogs makes for a thrilling tale of adventure and discovery. She'll keep you on the edge of your seat as she navigates the edge of a cliff or a mountain town without a shop for provisions on her two-wheeled steed.
This is my third Anna book. I loved 50 Shades of the USA and Pants of Perspective. I do hope there's more to come from this author and she'd better do the audio! There's no one spunkier to give the books their due!

Another amazing listen by McNuff!
Fantastic listen! Third adventure book she's published, but you don't need to listen to them in any particular order to appreciate the incredible, inspiring, and hilarious adventures she finds herself in, in the middle of the giant adventure.
I listened at 1.15x, so it sounds like she's talking to you.

Third Listen By the Author
This is the third book I’ve listened to from the author - each novel different but littered with great adventures, plenty of humor and details of geographic locations I will likely never personally see.
If you’re looking for a light hearted listen - I highly recommend McNuff.
