When 30-year-old Dean Nicholson set off from Scotland to cycle around the world, his aim was to learn as much as he could about our troubled planet. But he hadn't bargained on the lessons he'd learn from his unlikely companion.
Three months after leaving home, on a remote road in the mountains between Montenegro and Bosnia, he came across an abandoned kitten. Something about the piercing eyes and plaintive meowing of the bedraggled little cat proved irresistible. He couldn't leave her to her fate, so he put her on his bike and then, with the help of local vets, nursed her back to health. Soon on his travels with the cat he named Nala, they forged an unbreakable bond - both curious, independent, resilient and adventurous.
The video of how they met has had 20 million views and their Instagram has grown to almost 750k followers - and still counting! Experiencing the kindness of strangers, visiting refugee camps, rescuing animals through Europe and Asia, Dean and Nala have already learned that the unexpected can be pretty amazing.

Such a great feel good book. I really enjoyed the narration as well. Highly recommend, especially if you’re an animal lover.

Dean & Nala’s World
I totally loved this book! Dean has such a kind heart, shown by his rescue of Nala. She’s a lucky, and loving cat, and they make an amazing pair. Such a beautiful story. Well done Dean.

The Story the World Needed!
As a cat lover, I couldn't wait to read the simple story of a man and his cat, and I wasn't disappointed. After the year of Covid, it was so wonderful to read the story of Dean and Nala. I was fascinated following their journey around Europe and the travails of moving between countries. My heart was in my throat as I waited to see if Dean would make it back to Nala before Hungary shut down. The best part is knowing I can continue to follow their journeys on YouTube. Definitely a match made in Heaven.

Even If You Are Not A Cat Fan.....
....you can't help but love this story. it's simply about good people doing good things for both other people and helpless animals. Today's world needs more individuals like Dean. I only hope the adventure restarts post-COVID. Good luck and god speed with all your life adventures Dean.

Absolutely loved it!
So envious of his simple lifestyle....as a cat lover too. it was heartwarming to hear how he fell head over heals in love with Nala the cat and how she did the same. It is also a good travel adventure, documenting his route. Is there a book 2?

Loved it!
I loved Dean’s storytelling and hearing about his experiences! As an animal lover and bike tourer I could really relate. He is a good writer and great storyteller. I am so glad he decided se to share his story.

Ok, you made me cry.
I loved Dean and Nala's story. I rarely ever cry when reading (or listening to) books. This book so touched my heart. All people should be as kind as Dean. May only good things come to him and Nala.
