Problem is, Zack has the biggest tournament of his life coming up. The Star Fury tournament is Zack and his team’s chance of going pro and making a name for themselves.

Now, Zack’s swapping women around like the components of his starship, trying to find the balance between love and DaEvo. Good thing Zack’s a pro at gaming.

But some things can’t be quantified.

Like love.

This book is awesome. Tao Wongs would love to hear an interview with theses two authors about there writing process.

Fun read

I know nothing about playing online games so I was a little uncertain if I would like this story, but the hero crept into my heart and I began enjoying the story. His bungling attempts at romance were hilarious

A new kind of read for me

This story wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong the writing is good, and the characters are good. I just felt that the story had a sadder slow motion train wreck vibe going on.

Not as funny as I thought

I really wasn’t sure what this book would be about but I have to say it really turned out great. I haven’t read any A.G. Marshall before, after listening to this book, I’d love to read more of her work. The synergy with Tao Wong in this book is incredible, you don’t feel like there’s two different voices or two different styles of writing. They both come together very well and made an amazing story. Never thought I’d listen to a sort-of game-lit romance novel but now I wish there was more. Thanks for the great book!

Quite incredible

I was not sure what to expect from a litrpg romance. I figured it would just be a fun cozy read to kill the time driving to to work.

I was wrong.

I became extremely invested in the drama unfolding between these characters.

Zach's quest to level himself up checks all the right boxes for the litrpg genre, while his glaring flaws and adorkable personality hit all the right notes for a geek to chic romantic comedy. His incredible fortune only adds to the tension as he tries and fails to buy his way out of his problems.

The narrator for this book is incredibly talented at voice work. Not only does she give each human character a unique voice but her computer deadpan is on point for the dating AI that haunts Zach throughout the story.

Gamers and romantics should check out this take of how to get the girl while keeping your game time.

The premise was so cool, and the beginning of the book was so promising. Then...nothing. The main character was such a wholly unlikable dipshit toolbag. I was rooting for him to fail. There were only two likable characters in this book, and they were fairly minor roles. At the 6 hour point I was about to give up and return it, but I was traveling and had nothing else. So I stuck it out, and it was so disappointing.
The story relies on these ridiculous coincidences that were so frequent as to seem almost like lazy writing. It could have been half the length. The story just meanders about, all the while leaving me frustrated that nothing is progressing. We get stuck having to listen to descriptions of this dumbass playing his video game, which has no bearing on the story and seems added in just to appeal to "gamers". I come from the LitRPG side of things, and there was no point trying to make this about games. This was a YA romance novel that was bloated with an attempt at integrating another genre.
I'd love to read a more grown up version of this where the tech part of it wasn't so completely annoying, and the characters acted their age. This guy is supposed to be in his 20's, but acts like he's about 13. As do all the male characters. If the app had a personality it would have added so much to the book.
The narration was decent, but her "guy" voices just sounded so fake and unintelligent. It detracted from the story.
All in all it fell flat, and could have been so unique.

Not engaging at all. A missed opportunity.
