Way better than Level 1!

I’m glad I purchased both Level 1 and Level 2 at the same time. I actually found level 1 to be so slow-going that I was growing concerned that the whole course was going to be a huge waste of time and that I might never learn any Swedish at all, given Level 1’s long, drawn out descriptions of the life and customs of Sweden—most of which was all in English! I suppose that could be useful for someone who knows absolutely nothing about Sweden, yet I wonder who is going to sign up for a Swedish course if they don’t already have a reason to want to learn it, which would assume already knowing something about Sweden!

So unless you’re buying this for someone else (e.g. a teenager who knows very little about Sweden), you might easily skip Level 1 entirely, or, just stick it out and be patient, like I did.

Anyway, the good news is that in Level 2, they finally get to the “meat” of actually teaching you some Swedish, and even do a decent job of It—essentially redeeming their long-winded slow-going Level 1 - Absolute Beginner.
