Encouraging and inspirational

Hammitt’s story is very inspiring to married couples. It was nice to hear the stories behind the songs.

Raw reality

I so appreciated Matt’s honesty and self reflection. His trust and seeking God throughout his life is evident. Not perfect but true. Its it what I needed at this time in my life. Empty nester at a crossroads of daily life choices…married and wanting to be a better wife, mom of adult children and true to my inner dreamer. This book has encouraged me. Given me nuggets of revelation in the verses Matt shares throughout. Verses I know, but are always feeding me in different ways. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Matt and Sarah for being real.

I’m still crying from the last chapter as I write this review. Like a chapter out of my life’s journey —and failures- so relatable. A real and honest retelling of a Mans journey through the trials of daily life. Arriving at poignant conclusion of how to LEAD your family as Christ intended. Thank you Matthew for being so vulnerable & transparent to give us men a story to follow and example to live by. Break my heart for what breaks yours Lord and mold and change me into your likeliness. Amen!

This was the best thing in 2020! It is very well written and executed! I recommend every Christian married couple listen to this. The raw emotion is very powerful!

Encouraging, Inspirational, and Interesting

I highly recommend this book to husbands and fathers, and to anyone else who would like to read or listen to it with them. I would like to go back and listen to it again myself, paying more attention to and taking notes from sections I thought especially helpful or meaningful and to the discussion questions. There is a lot more I have in common with Matt Hammitt than I thought, both in how we feel and think and in difficulties and experiences we have had, especially in the little ways that might sound silly to talk about.

I've considered Matt Hammit my role model for a while because I admired how he kept his faith through his struggles regarding his son's severe heart issues. I followed the blog "Bowen's Heart." Reading this book, I learned interesting things about Matt and his life. He also had a lot of thoughts and wisdom to share that I can appreciate, especially since I can relate to some of what he had to share.

I know role models are people with issues and mistakes, but this book helps keep things in perspective. There were things I never knew he was dealing with regarding relationships and responsibilities when I was reading his blog, and I did not know about some other projects he and his wife have done that discuss such things. He has done and faced a lot, and he is far from perfect, just like every single other human being in existence. He's not better than people who look up to him, but he helps those people look up to God.

Iv listened to a lot of book and this is my first review, because how could I not write one of listening. I can’t explain how much this book has captured my heart in such a way to want to give my own heart to my wife and capture hers. I think I cried every day I listened to this book. Thank you matt and sarah for your willingness to be so vulnerable with the world to help family’s and marriages. Hod bless you and your family.
