Je m'appelle Julien Sarkozy. Oui, oui, je me prénomme bien Julien ! Professeur de littérature, j'étais fin prêt il y a quelques jours pour ma première session au cégep de Malphas. Le directeur pédagogique, Rupert Archlax, m'avait annoncé que j'aurais trois groupes dans le cours 102. Comme c'est celui qui se donne pendant la session d'hiver et que nous étions en août, j'avais tout de suite compris que mes élèves seraient ceux qui avaient coulé le cours à la dernière session.
Pour un professeur qui a quatorze années d'ancienneté–les trois premières à Montréal, les autres à Drummondville–ce n'est pas la situation rêvée. Mais je ne me suis pas plaint : après ce qui est arrivé l'an dernier, je… Enfin, disons que j'étais simplement heureux de pouvoir continuer à enseigner et que le cégep de Malphas, qui est si reculé que même Internet haute vitesse n'est pas encore rendu ici, représentait ma dernière chance !
Et puis, comme je venais de vivre un divorce pénible, je croyais que l'éloignement et le calme allaient m'être bénéfiques. Mais j'ai vite déchanté en ce qui concerne le calme, car Malphas n'est vraiment pas un cégep comme les autres. Tellement que j'en suis à me demander combien il me restera d'étudiants en vie à la fin de la session…
