The conflicted son of a witch was knighted by the king. Knighted to repay a debt to his father. His name is Calec. He alone holds knowledge from both the knighthood and the mysterious witches of the woods.
A string of gruesome deaths occur, and Calec is summoned by the king to investigate their cause. But answers remain as obscure as the monster behind the massacres. Calec seeks the aid and determination of pious Eristin—his betrothed and niece of the king—but to catch a murderer they must find answers, answers hidden beneath a web of secrets ensnaring the royal family, an innkeeper, a priest, and a thief.
When an alluring witch appears near a murder site and beckons Calec to enter the woods and return to his mother’s people, her call cannot be ignored. Her name is Serileen.
Now Calec must befriend Serileen if he ever hopes to solve the magical murders that are plaguing his kingdom.
But Calec never suspected he’d have to choose between the only two things he has ever loved—the blood on each side of his family.
Note: Each Calec Horror Mystery is a complete story without a cliffhanger ending, but there are some secondary questions that continue throughout the series. These stories can be read and enjoyed in any order.
