But Brian didn’t seem like a drug user, and even more concerning, he seemed to be on the cusp of releasing a report that identified a group of politicians who had taken bribes in helping dismantle a recent bill.
Brian’s mom is convinced that Brian was murdered because of what he’d learned, and it doesn’t take long for DeMarco to come to a similar conclusion. Another DeMarco gem!
The combo of Lawson’s writing and Joe Barrett’s performance is magic. No Emma in this volume, which was missed, but the story was fast paced, engaging, humorous and highly entertaining! Thank you Mike Lawson for being so consistent and creating characters that feel like familiar friends!

One of the best DeMarco books yet!
I love the DeMarco series! Mike Lawson does not disappoint with Kingpin. His mixture of goid plot & wonderful humor does not disappoint. DeMarco has graduated to the big leagues in this one - he gets by without Emma's help. It's like he's an adult now - almost! Joe Barrett does a stellar job of narration. He does DeMarco perfectly! Mr. Lawson - plz hurry as I can't wait for the next one!

Rich Characters Who Don’t Disappoint
Lawson knows how to spin interesting stories around a cast of good regulars and new additions … both good and evil. The end is rather predictable but the means, not so. The end is also quite satisfying and unlike many other series novels - it’s quite complete. The narration is excellent.
